The app used to be notoriously slow (due to a brief and disastrous flirtation with HTML5), but today Facebook provides one of the best mobile experiences you can find, and new features like Instant Articles and 360-degree video promise to take things even further. For many, without that white-on-blue “f” on the home screen, the iPhone feels naked.
Snapchat is a social networking app that thrives on instant messaging and is totally mobile-based. It’s one of the fastest growing apps out there, building its popularity on the idea of self-destructing “snaps.” You can send a photo or short video as a message (a snap) to a friend, which automatically disappears a few seconds after they’ve viewed it.
Snapchat is an image messaging application software product that was created by Reggie Brown, Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy when they were students at Stanford University. The app was officially released in September 2011, and within a short span of time they have grown immensely registering an average of 100 million daily active users as of May 2015. More than 18 percent of all social media users use Snapchat.
“Although I’ve had similar responsibilities in different organizations over the past 15 years, my department names have been a moving target – internet marketing, e-marketing, e-productivity, ecommerce, interactive marketing, and digital marketing. All the while, I’ve tried to maintain a tether to the “integrated marketing” and “marketing mix modeling” concepts birthed in the 90’s. They’re so dreamy, right? In 2014, I’m now comfortable calling that Digital Marketing. The digital threads of data and attribution allow us to build multi-faceted, measurable, and flexible plans that have the ability to adjust to the co-variability of business priorities and customer preferences.”

Thanks for the post, Kevan! 2015 is both the Year of the Sheep (Chinese calendar) and for me to become more serious about my social media presence (currently a very sad existence). You hit it on the head with “thrilling and overwhelming”. But your post has helped add to the thrilling by subtracting some of the overwhelming.
5. Remarketing: Remarketing plays a major role in digital marketing. This tactic allows marketers to publish targeted ads in front of an interest category or a defined audience, generally called searchers in web speak, they have either searched for particular products or services or visited a website for some purpose.
Your claim that “But knowing the basics — what they are, why they’re popular, and what problems can crop up when they’re not used responsibly — can make the difference between a positive and a negative experience for your kid.,” is a genetic fallacy because you are stating that parents do not know what their kids are doing, but at the same time it is a tautology. This is considered a genetic fallacy because it is common for older people, i.e., most parents of teens, do not know what all these social media apps are about and it is common since these are new technologies that are developing fast and hard to keep up with when you have much more to worry about. Most people have who have difficulty are those with families. Which whom are most, if not all, parents. So now assuming that with the knowledge you share parents of teens will be well informed of what each app is and what it is utilized for is a claim that is derived from your ending statement, which is where you created a tautology. The information that is used to prove your argument only shows that the ends were the means, by which I mean the point of your argument was to introduce your conclusion. So the best thing to do is to make sure that if you are going to post anything informational there should be a long check of logical fallacies.
Kids love this app because it takes the pressure off of having to share something with everyone like they would on traditional social networks. If you’re unfamiliar, check out this step-by-step tutorial on how to use Snapchat. Snapchat also has a unique feature called Stories, which allows users to share snaps publicly when they want. More »
